About Southern Country Houston
Southern Country Houston,
founded in 1991, is a country/western dance organization in southeast
Texas. As a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, we have a great time
while we work to support other local charitable organizations through
dance workshops, community service, and fundraising activities.
Although we exist to provide a comfortable and safe place for GLBT
people, we do not discriminate--everyone is welcome. Southern Country
Houston is a leader in community service in the southeast Texas area.
 Southern Country Houston has been a proud member club of the International Association of Gay/Lesbian Country Western Dance Clubs
(IAGLCWDC) since the Association's inception in 1993. As a full-member
club of the IAGLCWDC, Southern Country Houston has voting rights at the
general membership meetings and is eligible to participate in all
activities and committees. Contact your IAGLCWDC delegate for more
information.
The stated purpose of the IAGLCWDC is "To
promote country western dancing, activities and music to all persons
without regard to age, sex, gender or gender identity, religion,
national or cultural origin, sexual orientation, disability or HIV
status."
